Getting Started

Registration & Eligibility

Who can participate in SIO 2026–27?

Any student currently studying in Class 1 to Class 10 is eligible, from every recognised board in India and partner schools abroad. There is no minimum marks requirement — SIO is designed to identify and nurture talent at every level, aligned to NEP 2020. Participation happens through a registered school or directly through student registration.

How do I register for the Olympiad?

Schools can enrol using the "Register as School" form, and students can enrol individually through "Register as Student". Registrations for the 2026–27 edition open from September 2026. For bulk school enrolments our coordination team assists with the complete process, from registration to exam-day scheduling.

Can a student register individually if the school is not participating?

Yes. Student registration is designed exactly for this. Once student registration opens in September 2026, individual applicants can enrol directly, and the organising team will assign a convenient examination arrangement subject to availability. We still encourage students to request their school's participation — school-led participation includes coordinated exam-day support.

Which boards and countries are accepted?

All recognised Indian boards — CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE and State Boards — are accepted. The programme is open internationally across partner countries, with papers set in English following the class-wise syllabus published on this website. Content is benchmarked to NEP 2020 so students from any board can compete fairly.

Is parental or school consent required?

Yes. Participants below 18 years require consent of a parent or legal guardian, and registrations routed through schools are coordinated with the school's authorised teacher coordinator. This consent requirement is part of our commitment to child safety and is detailed in the Privacy Policy.

The Big Day

Examination & Format

When will the SIO examination be conducted?

The SIO 2026–27 examination window is January – February 2027, conducted inside participating schools during regular school hours. Exact dates for each school are communicated to the coordinator in advance. Results are declared in March 2027, followed by the celebrations at Superhero Fest 2027.

What is the mode of the examination?

The examination is a computer-based assessment conducted on school devices under supervised conditions. No special software is needed — a standard browser is sufficient. Students of younger classes receive on-screen assistance and practice runs before the actual paper so that first-time computer users feel comfortable.

Which subjects are covered in the paper?

Three subjects — Mathematics, Science and English — with class-wise content. Every paper is built from the published syllabus for that class (see the Syllabus page, where the full topic list for Class 1–10 can be viewed). Questions test conceptual clarity and application, not rote memorisation.

What happens if my school is not an exam centre?

Where the registered school is not a centre, the organising team endeavours to arrange a convenient alternative arrangement subject to availability. Arrangements are made at the sole discretion of the organiser, as described in the Terms & Conditions, and no two arrangements can be guaranteed to be identical.

Are sample papers or practice material provided?

Yes. Registered students receive preparation support, and students on the Olympiad + AI Dashboard plan get the full AI-powered preparation suite — adaptive practice, instant analytics and exam-readiness checks mapped to the class-wise syllabus. Sample papers familiarise students with the question styles used in the actual assessment.

Transparent Pricing

Fees & Payments

What are the registration fees for SIO 2026–27?

Two simple plans: Olympiad Only at ₹399/- and Olympiad + AI Dashboard at ₹999/- per student for the full edition. Early Bird pricing is available for a limited period as announced on the website. Both plans include the examination, certificate, medal and the complimentary Student Development Programme membership.

What is included in every registration?

Every registered participant receives a certificate of participation, a medal, and a complimentary Student Development Programme membership worth ₹1,999/-, in addition to the examination itself. Rewards and recognition for top performers are additional, as detailed on the Rewards page and governed by the Terms & Conditions.

Are the fees refundable?

No. All fees are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable under all circumstances — including withdrawal, absence from the examination, disqualification, or any change in personal plans. This policy is stated clearly in the Terms & Conditions before payment, so please register thoughtfully.

Are there any hidden or extra charges?

No hidden charges are added after registration. The plan fee covers the items listed for that plan. Applicable taxes, if any, are shown at checkout, and optional add-ons (if introduced) are always priced separately and never forced. Any change to the fee structure is published on the website and applies prospectively.

Can the fee structure change?

Yes. The organiser reserves the right to revise fees, plans, inclusions and pricing periods (such as Early Bird windows) from time to time at its discretion, prospectively for future registrations. Fees already paid for a completed registration are governed by the non-refundable policy stated at the time of payment.

Glory & Recognition

Results, Awards & Rewards

When and how are results declared?

Results for SIO 2026–27 are declared in March 2027 on this website and inside the AI Dashboard. Registered coordinators and parents receive communication about result availability. Scorecards show subject-wise performance so every student knows exactly where they excelled.

What do top performers receive?

A full ladder of recognition — medals, trophies, scholarships and champion honours, celebrated at Superhero Fest 2027 at NITTTR Chandigarh Campus. The complete awards structure is on the Rewards page. All awards, prizes and benefits are provided subject to availability and at the organiser's discretion as per the Terms & Conditions.

Is Superhero Fest open to everyone?

Superhero Fest is the grand celebration of the programme. Attendance is by invitation according to announced criteria (champions, winners, invited schools and guests) and is subject to availability of seats and venue capacity. Selected participants and schools receive invitations with complete event details in due course.

How are rankings and tie-breaks decided?

Evaluation, scoring, rankings and tie-breaking follow the organiser's published methodology, and the organiser's decisions on all examination and award matters are final and binding. No correspondence regarding scoring decisions is entered into, ensuring a fair and tamper-proof process for all participants alike.

Smart Learning

AI Dashboard & Preparation

What exactly is the SIO AI Dashboard?

The AI Dashboard is the programme's smart-learning companion, powered by Google Cloud. It gives students adaptive practice questions, instant performance analytics, weak-area detection and exam-readiness insights — all mapped to the class-wise SIO syllabus, so preparation time is spent exactly where it is needed most.

Who gets access to the AI Dashboard?

Students registered on the Olympiad + AI Dashboard plan (₹999/-) receive full dashboard access after registration is confirmed. Access is linked to the registered student profile and remains active for the edition's preparation and result cycle as per the programme schedule.

Do I need to install any software?

No. The dashboard runs entirely in a modern web browser on any phone, tablet or computer — nothing to install, nothing to configure. Progress syncs across devices automatically, so a student can practise on a home computer and revise on a parent's phone seamlessly.

Is student data on the dashboard safe?

Yes. Student information is handled according to our Privacy Policy, with parental/guardian consent obtained for minors, data minimisation practised, and access restricted to programme purposes — examination delivery, preparation analytics and communication. We never sell personal data.

Partner With Us

Schools & Sponsors

How can our school participate in SIO?

Submit the Register as School form and our coordination team will get in touch with the complete onboarding kit — registration drives, coordinator briefing, exam-day scheduling and result reports for your school. Participating schools receive recognition as official SIO examination partners.

What does a school coordinator need to do?

The coordinator (usually a teacher) is our single point of contact for the school — collecting registrations, sharing the exam schedule with students, and ensuring the computer lab is ready on exam day. The SIO team provides checklists, posters, banners and step-by-step support at every stage of the edition.

How can organisations sponsor SIO?

Sponsors power scholarships, prizes and the Superhero Fest while earning visibility across a million-strong student community. See the Sponsors page for partnership tiers, or write to us via the Contact form and our partnerships desk will share the sponsorship deck.

Who operates the SIO programme?

SIO is operated by Singhans Pvt. Ltd. as an associated educational initiative of the NITTTR Chandigarh R&D Foundation, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Foundation is a DPIIT-recognised startup and ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 21001:2018 certified institution.
